::A Very Lucky Girl::

I am so lucky to have such a wonderful husband who is so unbelievably supportive of my quilting (and all the fabric/stuff that comes with that!)

Just last week I was complaining about my cutting mat here on the blog.  I must have been complaining about it in real life too that or he is reading the blog, if so “Hi, Blake!!”

So on Valentine’s Day, a ginormous (about as tall as me) box shows up.  It is from a sign company, and since that’s the industry Blake works in, I thought for some reason some sign showed up at the house.  When I asked him at work if he had a sign sent here, he said he must have and to open it for him.

As soon as I saw that one inch square grid, I knew what it was.  I actually felt really bad for opening it when he wasn’t home!

He then tells me that even though it’s not a typical Valentine’s gift, he figured I would probably enjoy the cutting mat more than flowers that would die. Oh, you are so right!

For those asking about wear:  Obviously, I haven’t even had the mat for a week yet.  However, I have cut two quilts on it.  I have noticed that initially, it seams that the cut makes a bigger cut line into the mat (especially with a dull blade) However, it is way more “healing” than the usual cutting mats.  After I walked away, thinking I had big gashes in my new mat, I went back and they were completely gone and everything was smooth again.  When I was cutting something very linty (like knits) I would just be sure to wipe the surface clean before it healed with the lint trapped inside!  As far as dulling the blades, I haven’t noticed any difference, and I don’t think there will be, it’s made for blades like this!  Obviously I was not compensated for this review, I just really love this mat and wanted to share about it with all of you!

    That is such a much better gift than flowers. I love how enormous that mat is and it looks like he even took the time to measure your table and get the largest one possible. What kind of mat is it? I see that there is a name in the middle but can’t make it out.

    Wow, that mat is huge! You could land an airplane, er, flying sewing machine on it. Your hubby sounds like a keeper!

    Way better than flowers – what a great mat!! Found your blog while looking for TN bloggers (I’m moving there next year). I’ll be back to read more (even though I know you are in another state now!) Happy stitching!
