New Project Bag and a Brave Start

I figured that now I have so many knitting WIPS that I needed another project bag!  My other knitting bag was blogged about here.

I sure love the easiness of a drawstring bag.  Needing no special hardware on hand it’s a good impulse sewing project.  It’s also fast enough to get done during nap time!

And what goodies are going to be tucked inside this cute little bag….

This is the start of my very first pair of socks.  I am loving making them, although this little 4 inch cuff took FOREVER it seemed!  I’m happy to say that I’ve gotten past the cuff and am now gaining speed.  Not only is it my first sock, but it’s also my first time using double pointed needles (DPNS) Goodness were those things fiddly!  I felt like I had a crazy handful of needles, which I guess I kinda did.  It took about 10 rounds for me to get into a groove with the DPNS and now I don’t mind them at all.   It is so fun to make socks, can’t wait to be able to wear them!  (assuming all goes right with the heel!)

You don’t do the 2 knit 2 purl (are that the right terms?) undtil you get to the heel? but maybe that’s just how my family has been making them. I like the pattern the wool’s been making so far.
